Fort Wayne District Trooper of the Year Announced

(Indianapolis, IN) – At a ceremony held in the Government Center South in Indianapolis this afternoon, Trooper Anthony Repass was named the 2016 Fort Wayne District Trooper of the Year. 

The “District Trooper of the Year” award is presented each year to a trooper at each district that personifies professionalism, integrity, a well-rounded work ethic and community involvement as determined by the district command. Criteria for the award include the areas of traffic and criminal enforcement, case and crash investigation, public information programs and community service.

Repass received the award for his outstanding achievements in 2016 at the Fort Wayne District. Repass is a Marion County native and a graduate of Lawrence North High School.  He is a veteran of the United States Marine Corps and was appointed as a Trooper in December 2014.

Repass led the District with 1,558 traffic enforcement contacts and also had 88 criminal arrests.  He worked closely with the Sheriff of Jay County in starting the first Jay County Law Enforcement Youth Camp, which earned him high praise from other officers as well as from the general public.  Repass who is a resident of Wells County, currently patrols and serves the citizens of Adams, Blackford, Jay and Wells Counties.
