*Name Correction* - Kyle Patrick Ramsey


Los Angeles County Sheriff's Homicide detectives are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the shooting death of a woman that was discovered Tuesday, April 18, 2017, on the 8700 block of Rosewood Avenue, West Hollywood.
                           
Detectives have identified the victim as 25-year-old Whitney Jade Washuta.
 
Information obtained during the course of the investigation revealed Victim Washuta was in a dating relationship with 27-year-old Kyle Patrick Ramsey for approximately three years.  Victim Washuta discontinued the relationship approximately one month ago but Ramsey was reluctant to end the relationship, and continued to contact the victim against her will.
 
Detectives learned of a second shooting shortly after victim Washuta was pronounced dead.  A man, identified as Suspect Ramsey, was discovered deceased in a vehicle at the 100 block of Croft Avenue, Los Angeles. Homicide detectives believe the suspect shot and killed victim Washuta prior to taking his own life, a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
 
There is no evidence of any past domestic violence or stalking allegations against Mr. Ramsey.
 
There is no additional information available at this time, and the investigation is on-going.

Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Homicide Bureau detectives are continuing their investigation into the shooting death of a woman. The incident occurred Tuesday, April 18, 2017 at approximately 8:43 p.m., on the 8700 block of Rosewood Avenue, West Hollywood.

Detectives have learned that West Hollywood Station deputies responded to a call to meet with the fire department personnel regarding a female with a possible gunshot wound.

When they arrived, they observed the fire department personnel treating a female white adult for an apparent gunshot wound to the upper torso.  

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene due to her injuries.

We are in the preliminary stages of this investigation. There is no suspect information at this time, and the motive is unknown.

The investigation is still ongoing.
