Flood Update
The Army Corps of Engineers continues to release water from local reservoirs to prepare for future snow melt. Water release is controlled and regulated based on the capacity of river and canal systems. To date, no farmland near the Corcoran Levee has been flooded.
The threat of a flash flood or storm surge scenario is unlikely to occur in Corcoran. Residents, businesses, and public institutions will be provided several days’ notice if flooding will affect the community.
The Cross Creek Flood Control District continues to work on the reconstruction of the Corcoran Levee. Reconstruction of the levee is 70% complete. The project is expected to be finished in May 2017.
