Stevenson Ranch: Crime & Public Safety Report for the Week of April 3, 2017 to April 9, 2017

Here is the Stevenson Ranch Crime & Public Safety Report for the Week of April 3, 2017 to April 9, 2017

04/05/17
Robbery (Armed) - 28100 block of The Old Road
The victim stated was sitting in her parked vehicle at the location. A male adult approached her vehicle and asked her for change. The victim stated that when she lowered her window, the suspect pointed a black and silver semi-automatic pistol at her and demanded all her money. The victim told the suspect she did not have any cash on her.  At that time the suspect demanded her debit card and PIN number.  Fearing for her life, the victim gave the suspect her debit card, but provided him with a fake PIN number. The suspect then left the location in a dark colored car. Person(s) unknown then attempted to use the victim’s debit card at a gas station in Sylmar.

04/07/17
Burglary (Vehicle) - 26500 block of Heritage View Lane
Person(s) unknown entered the victim’s vehicle and looked through the interior. Nothing was taken. The victim stated his vehicle was locked. There were no signs of forced entry.

04/08/17
Petty Theft - 25900 block of Pope Place
A male adult stole a package containing a book and two bottles of face lotion from the victim’s doorstep. Total loss was $55.00.

04/09/17
Petty Theft - 26100 block of Magic Mountain Parkway
Person(s) unknown stole the victim’s cell phone which had fallen out of his pocket while on a ride at the park. The victim was told by staff that for safety reasons, they could not recover the cell phone until the park was closed for the day, and that he could pick it up later. When the victim returned, the cell phone was missing and staff did not have any knowledge of the incident.

Tip of the Week: Poe Raceway???

I have received numerous complaints from residence regarding drivers speeding on Poe Parkway in Stevenson Ranch. Traffic enforcement units from both the California Highway Patrol and Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station have been posting in the area and citing drivers for vehicle code violations. In many of these cases, those cited were residents of Stevenson Ranch. When driving in a familiar area, it’s very easy to become relaxed and not pay attention to our speed.  Studies have shown that due to this relaxed state, most traffic collisions occurred within two miles of a person’s home. Please watch your speed, obey all traffic laws, and get home safely.

Take care, and be safe.
