City of Rosemead to host Homeless Awareness Workshop on April 19 at 7pm, Public Safety Center, 8301 Garvey Avenue.

HOMELESS AWARENESS WORKSHOP

The majority of California cities have seen an increase in the homeless population in their communities and Rosemead is no exception. While it is not illegal to be homeless, the impacts associated with this situation can be significant to our local residents and businesses.

The City of Rosemead is aware of these impacts, and in response the City’s Public Safety Department will be hosting an event to address concerns and share what we are doing to address the homeless population in our community. On Wednesday, April 19th, 2017, the City of Rosemead will be hosting a “Homeless Awareness Workshop” from 7:00 pm – 8:00 pm at the Rosemead Public Safety Center, located at 8301 Garvey Avenue, Rosemead.

The workshop is intended to inform residents of the presence of homeless in our community and answer questions about the steps the City of Rosemead is taking to curb this crisis. Guest speakers will include Los Angeles County Sheriff Department personnel, and representatives from various homeless outreach agencies.

For further information, please contact the Public Safety Department at (626) 569-2292 or Michael Reyes, Public Safety Supervisor at: [email protected].
