Manheim Twp. Mowing Accident Claims a Life

A man is killed when his mower flips and falls into a pond.

On Monday April 10, 2017 at 1030 AM, officers were dispatched to the 6000 blk. of Hokes RD., Glen Rock, Manheim Twp. They determined that the victim, Timothy Stockslager, 54 YOA, of the 800 blk. of Iron Ridge RD., Spring Grove, Heidelberg Twp., was mowing the grass and for unknown reasons the mower that he was riding on, overturned into a pond on the property, trapping the victim under the mower and under the water. Two persons at the scene entered the water and freed the victim from the mower, brought him to land and began life saving efforts.

Lineboro Fire personnel were on the scene and revived the victim and he was transported to Hanover Hospital. On Wed., 04.12.17, the victim succumbed to his injuries. The exact cause of death is still pending but by all accounts is accidental in nature.

The York County Coroner's Office responded to the scene and is still attempting to determine the exact cause of death.
