A man is arrested after being found with a loaded handgun at a local Walmart

INCIDENT: Possession of a Dangerous Weapon
LOCATION: 12234 Palmdale Road
SUSPECT: Matthew Butler, 23-year-old resident of Apple Valley
SUMMARY: On April 11, 2017, Sheriff’s Dispatch received a call reporting a man with a gun in his pocket at Walmart, located on Palmdale Road.
The caller stated the man was in line at the customer service desk and the gun could be seen in his back pocket. Deputies from the Victorville Police Department arrived at the location and made contact with Matthew Butler as he stood in line. Butler was found to be in possession of a loaded handgun and was taken into custody without incident.
Butler was transported to High Desert Detention Center, where he will be booked for possession of a dangerous weapon.
