Four suspects were arrested after starting a fire at a local Walmart

INCIDENT: P.C. 451(b) - Arson of an Inhabited Structure
LOCATION: State Highway 18 @ Bass Hill Road, Apple Valley
SUSPECT(S): Victoria Gayosso, age 29 of Victorville; Jessi Cardenas, age 31 of Victorville; Artel Brown, age 24 of Victorville; Earl Turner, age 22 of Victorville
VICTIM(S): WalMart
SUMMARY: On April 2, 2017, at about 7:50 a.m., deputies responded to the report of a fire in the WalMart located on State Highway 18 in the Town of Apple Valley. Upon arrival, deputies were advised that the suspects, later identified as Victoria Gayosso, Jessi Cardenas, and Artel Brown, were preparing to steal items when they started a fire, creating a distraction. Gayosso, Cardenas, and Brown fled the scene.
On April 10, 2017, at approximately 7:45 a.m., loss prevention officers from Target, in the Town of Apple Valley, observed Cardenas, Brown, and Earl Turner inside the store stealing items. Deputies and Detectives from the Apple Valley Station responded to the scene. Cardenas was apprehended outside of the store. Brown and Turner left the location in a U-Haul truck. A traffic stop was conducted on the vehicle near the intersection of Bass Hill Road and State Highway 18. Brown and Turner were taken into custody without incident. Detectives located Gayosso at her motel in the City of Victorville.
All suspects were arrested and booked into the High Desert Detention Center. Gayosso, Cardenas, and Brown were charged with arson of an inhabited structure. Cardenas, Brown, and Turner were also booked for shoplifting. WalM
