Detectives Arrest a Modesto Man for School Burglaries

Modesto, CA – Modesto Police Property Crimes Detectives made an arrest on Thursday April 6th during an ongoing investigation into school burglaries throughout Modesto, CA.

At about 2:30 PM, Thursday, detectives with the Modesto Police Department Property Crimes Unit went to the 200 block of Johnson Av in Modesto and arrested 32 year old Jacob Snavely, of Modesto, in relation to a string of burglaries at local schools.

Earlier in the week officers were dispatched to a burglary at Chrysler Elementary School. During the investigation evidence was located that led to the identity of Snavely. Detectives located Snavely at the address on Johnson Av. Detectives also located more evidence related to the burglaries.

This series of burglaries started late last year. Detective Ray Bennett led the investigation which included approximately 40 burglaries. Detective Bennett booked Snavely into Stanislaus County Jail on Thursday for burglary and probation violation.
