Details: On Friday, March 31, 2017, at approximately 5:43 AM, Corcoran Police Officers responded to the 1000 block of Alder Avenue for a report of a vehicle being stolen while its owner left it running unattended. Officers located the vehicle leaving the scene and attempted to make a traffic stop of the vehicle. The driver failed to yield to the police units. Police units pursued the vehicle at speeds at over 70 MPH before the suspect failed to negotiate a southbound turn at Letts Avenue. The vehicle crashed into a fire hydrant barrier near Corcoran High School. No students were present at the time of the incident. The driver attempted to flee the scene on foot but was apprehended after a short foot chase. The driver was later identified as Juan Pulido, Jr. Pulido was arrested and booked into the Kings County Jail on charges of Auto Theft, Evading Police, Driving While Under the Influence of Drugs and Being Under the Influence of a Controlled Substance. Pulido’s bail was set at $95,000.
