MAIT Deputies investigate a fatal collision involving a truck and a motorcycle

INCIDENT: Fatal Traffic Collision
LOCATION: Nisqualli Road and Cypress Avenue, Victorville
DRIVER #1: Daniel Vasquez, 20 years old, Victorville resident
VEHICLE #1: Yellow 2005 Dodge Ram pickup truck
DRIVER # 2: Richard Ryan Rosas, 32 years old, Victorville resident
VEHICLE #2: Black 2016 Harley-Davidson “72” motorcycle
SUMMARY:
On Saturday, April 1, 2017, at 3:02 a.m., Vehicle #1 was traveling west in the center turn lane of Nisqualli Road, merging into the #1 westbound lane. Vehicle #2 was traveling westbound on Nisqualli Road, in the #1westbound lane. As Vehicle #1 merged from the center turn lane to the #1 westbound lane, Vehicle #2 collided with the back of Vehicle #1.
Emergency services were summoned to the scene to provide medical aid and conduct an investigation. Driver #2 sustained major injuries as a result of the collision and succumbed to his injuries on scene. Driver #1 was not injured.
This collision being investigated by the Victorville Police Major Accident Investigation Team (M.A.I.T.). Anyone with information about this collision is asked to contact Deputy Charles Wallace or Deputy Jeffrey Dean with Victorville Police Station M.A.I.T. team.
