                Dearborn, Mi. — The Dearborn Police Department’s Investigative Division is revisiting an open cold case homicide that occurred in 2006.
On April 13, 2006 at approximately 11:08pm, Dearborn police officers responded to the 3400 block of Houston in the City of Dearborn on a report of a woman who had been shot.  Upon arrival, officers discovered the deceased victim, Aniseh Eljahmi, lying in the street near the driver’s side door of her vehicle.  Eljahmi’s vehicle was parked in front of her home on Houston St. and it appeared that she was gunned down by the assailant shortly after exiting her vehicle.  Eljahmi’s daughter, who was six years old at the time, witnessed the murder of her mother; but she was unharmed.
Dearborn Police Investigators developed several leads and conducted a thorough investigation at the time, but no charges were authorized and there were no arrests made in connection to this case. The case has remained open since the incident.
In the decade since the incident and the initial investigation, there have been a multitude of technological advancements in law enforcement, improvements in policing methods, and changes in circumstances which may assist in this case.  Utilizing these new methods, investigators are reexamining the case facts and evidence with the anticipation that it may eventually lead to an arrest.  In addition to these advancements, the Dearborn Police Department is asking that any person with information regarding this case to please come forward.
Dearborn Police Chief Ronald Haddad stated, “Ms. Eljahmi’s homicide is a tragedy that has devastated her family and has remained among one of the most pressing cold cases for the Dearborn Police Department.  We are again asking for the public’s help in identifying any suspects and sharing any information they may have about this incident.  The Dearborn Police Department remains committed to finding and prosecuting the person or persons responsible for this senseless crime.”
