A Highland man is arrested for brutally assaulting his wife

INCIDENT: Spousal Assault, Criminal Threats, False Imprisonment
LOCATION: 29000 block of Lytle Lane, Highland
SUSPECT: Carlton Gerald Springer 45 years old, of Highland
SUMMARY:
During the early morning hours of Friday, March 31st, Carlton Springer became involved in a fight with his wife. Springer brutally attacked and punched her numerous times in front of their three small children. When the victim tried to leave he took her cell phone and smashed it, then held a knife to her threatening to kill her if she left. The victim attempted to calm Springer, but he continued to beat and punch her all over her body. Eventually the victim managed to get away, and fled to the Sheriff's Station where she reported the incident. She was transported to the hospital for examination and treatment of her injuries.
Deputies responded to the residence and located Springer and the children as they were trying to leave in a vehicle. Springer was arrested without incident, and the children were reunited with their mother. Springer was transported to West Valley Detention Center where he was booked for Spousal Assault, Criminal Threats and False Imprisonment.
