Weather Warning
The National Weather Service has issued a Flood Warning for Northwestern Athens County until 945 AM, Friday, 3/31/17.
Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated that moderate rain was falling over the area. The rain will cause flooding. Area creeks and streams will come out of their banks and poor draining low lying areas will flood. Localized road flooding is also expected, especially in urban areas where drainage is poor and in low spots near streams.
Some locations that will experience flooding include Athens, Nelsonville, Glouster, Chauncey, Buchtel, Jacksonville, Murray City, Trimble, and Burr Oak State Park.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS;
