OSBI Special Agents Investigate Use of Force Case in Kingston

OSBI special agents have responded to a call for assistance from the Kingston Police Department reference an officer use of force case. Just after 1 o’clock this afternoon, the Kingston Police Department received an emergency call about a man in a ditch behind the Mirage Car Wash. The caller stated the man appeared to be having a heart attack. Three police officers, one sheriff’s deputy, as well as medical personal arrived on scene to find the man unresponsive. When officers attempted to render aid, the man became alert and extremely combative. The officers tried to subdue the man, but they could not get control of him. After several minutes, the man became unresponsive again and stopped breathing. Medical personnel began cardio pulmonary resuscitation on the way to the hospital. The man was pronounced dead just after 2 p.m. at a Madill hospital. Once the man’s next of kin has been notified of his death, OSBI will release his name.
