OSBI Agent Arrests Roland Woman for Embezzlement, Stole More Than $400,000 
Monday, OSBI special agents arrested a Roland woman for embezzling hundreds of thousands of dollars from the company where she worked. Carolyn Louise Hignite (d.o.b. 6/20/1971) prepared 122 fictitious loans under fictitious names at Anchor Financial Services, a lending company in Roland, and took the money assigned to each loan totaling $427,699. Hignite started the scheme around Christmas 2012 to bankroll a gambling habit. The company reported the alleged embezzlement to the Sequoyah County District Attorney’s Office. The D.A. requested OSBI special agents investigate.
Agents arrested Hignite at the Sequoyah County jail when she turned herself in Monday afternoon. Her bond is set at $5,000.
