Details: On Wednesday, March 8, 2017, at approximately 5:50 PM, Corcoran Police Officers responded to the 1000 block of Chester Avenue for a report of shots fired and a subject down in the area. Officers arrived and found a man suffering from a single gunshot wound. The victim stated he was shot by the driver of a white vehicle occupied by a total of four people, and described the driver as being a Hispanic male. The victim’s wound was not considered life threatening. Through follow up investigation, Corcoran Police detectives and investigators with the Kings County Gang Task Force identified German Cardenas as the suspect in this shooting. On Wednesday, March 22, the Corcoran Police Department, assisted by the Visalia Police Swat Team, the Kings County District Attorney’s Investigators, and the Kings County Gang Task, served a search warrant in the 2800 block of W. Mission Court in Visalia in connection with the shooting. Officers arrested German Cardenas for the shooting and recovered a firearm that had been reported stolen out of Visalia. Cardenas was booked into the Kings County Jail on charges of Attempted Murder, Assault with a Deadly Weapon, Shooting at an Inhabited Dwelling, Possession of Stolen Property, and a Gang Enhancement. Cardenas is being held on $775,000 bail. |
