City of Rosemead to host a Coyote Awareness Workshop on March 29th at 7pm. Visit www.cityofrosemead.org for more information.

Several residents have reported sightings of coyotes in the area, and have expressed concerns about community safety. Coyotes are very comfortable living alongside human beings, and after decades of co-habituating with people, they have little fear of urban centers and are often seen in residential areas.

In response to this, the City of Rosemead Public Safety Department will be hosting an event to address concerns raised by our residents. On Wednesday, March 29, 2017, the City of Rosemead will be holding a “Coyote Awareness Workshop” from 7:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the Rosemead Public Safety Center, located at 8301 Garvey Avenue, Rosemead.

This workshop is intended to inform residents of the presence of coyotes in our community and how to co-exist with them. The workshop will feature wildlife and animal experts to share more information with the public about how to protect themselves and their pets from coyotes. They will also be available to answer any questions. Light refreshments and coyote whistles will also be available for attendees.

For further information, please contact the Public Safety Department at (626) 569-2292 or Michael Reyes, Public Safety Supervisor at: [email protected].
