Saugus Crime Report for the Week of March 13-19, 2017

Saugus Public Safety and Crime Prevention Information for 03/13/17 – 03/19/17: 


Vehicle Burglary – 29000 block of Cedar Glen Court 
A suspect shattered the rear window of the victim’s vehicle. The suspect was seen by a witness and later apprehended by Santa Clarita Station Deputies. The suspect was arrested for vehicle burglary. 

Petty Theft from Vehicle – 27100 block of Rio Prado Drive 
Three subjects were detained for Petty Theft and Vehicle Tampering at the above location. During nighttime hours, the three subjects were seen entering the victim’s vehicle. The subjects were later detained by deputies and issued citations for the listed crimes. 


Mail Theft – Shirley Place/Holly Drive 
An unknown suspect broke into a community mailbox and stole mail from the box. 


Vehicle Burglary – 22400 block of Paragon Drive
An unknown suspect shattered the victim’s front right window to gain entry. The suspect stole 2 DVDs and food items. 


Vehicle Burglary – 22700 block of Soledad Canyon Road 
The suspect entered the victim’s vehicle and stole 4 purses that were left in the vehicle. The victim was unsure of how the suspect made entry into the vehicle but said all of the doors were locked. 

Petty Theft - 26500 block of Bouquet Canyon Road 
A male suspect walked into the location selected a 24 pack of “Coors Light” and walked out of the store without paying for the items. 

Burglaries to Vehicles/ Public Safety Information

People breaking into vehicles are becoming an all too common trend lately. Please stay vigilant. Do not keep anything of value inside your vehicle. Make sure you lock all your doors and don’t forget to remove your garage door opener from within your vehicle as well. Remember, if you see someone or something that does not look right or looks suspicious, it probably is. Call the Sheriff’s Department (661) 255-1121 or 911, and have a deputy come check it out.
