Male found deceased in State Park

On Saturday, March 25, 2017 two hikers found a 25-year-old male deceased just off of the La Ho Trail In Codorus State Park. This is located just on the south side of State Road 216 in Manheim Twp.

The victim is Ryan W Blizzard, 25, currently of Spring Grove, PA.

On Thursday, March 23, 2017, at approximately 9 PM, there was a single vehicle traffic crash at the intersection of State Road 216 and Blue Hill Road in Manheim Twp. When a passerby arrived and called in this crash the driver fled from the scene on foot. Officers searched for this person for two hours but could not locate anyone in the dense woods.

The investigation revealed that Blizzard was driving this vehicle and had made a phone call to a relative advising of this situation. It is believed that he walked the 1 mile to where he was located. It is not known why he expired but an autopsy will be performed on Monday, March 27, 2017. We will advise the results of this report but all indications are that there was no foul play involved in this incident.

Also aiding in this investigation is the York County Coroners Office, Pa State Park Rangers, York County detectives and the York County Forensic team.
