On March 23, 2017, at 11:36 a.m. Deputy U.B. Smith and Deputy Jennifer Loesch conducted a traffic stop on a 2009 Peterbuilt semi-truck pulling a 2007 Utility box trailer on US 41 near State Road 56. Deputy Smith stopped the vehicle due to erratic and aggressive driving by the driver. Upon approaching the driver was identified as 60 year old Richard Hanlon of Matthews, Missouri. At the conclusion of Deputy Smith’s roadside investigation Mr. Hanlon was taken into custody and transported to the Gibson County Jail where he was charged with Reckless Driving. Mr. Hanlon has since posted a $900 bond.
