*UPDATE* #LASD Arrest Suspect in Fatal Hit and Run, Pico Rivera
Los Angeles County Pico Rivera Sheriff Station detectives are continuing their investigation into the felony hit and run which occurred on Friday, March 24, 2017, at approximately 2:00 a.m., on Rosemead Boulevard, just south of Rex Road, in Pico Rivera.
Detectives learned several hours after the traffic collision occurred, deputies from the Pico Rivera station assigned to the Community Partnership Bureau were patrolling the area of Whittier Boulevard and Passons Boulevard, Pico Rivera. Deputies stopped a blueish/grey 2005 Honda Accord for several vehicle code violations.
The deputies stopped the vehicle at the intersection Pioneer Boulevard and Saragosa Street, unincorporated West Whittier. The deputies contacted the driver identified as 21-year-old Berta Ramirez, a resident of Pico Rivera. During the investigation, the deputies noticed extensive damage to the front end of the vehicle. It was determined the vehicle matched the description of the vehicle involved in the fatal “hit and run” traffic collision which occurred early in the morning.
Based on further investigation, suspect Ramirez was booked at the Pico Rivera Sheriff Station and charged with 20001 (a) CVC, Felony Hit and Run Involving Injury or Death and is being held in lieu of $50,000 bail.

On Friday, March 24, 2017, at approximately 2:00 a.m., a female Hispanic was riding her bicycle on Rosemead Boulevard, just south of Rex Road, in Pico Rivera, when she was struck and killed by a vehicle.
The victim was transported to a local hospital and succumbed to her injuries. Her identity will be determined by the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner – Coroner.
Detectives are seeking the public’s assistance is identifying the “hit and run” driver and/or occupant(s) who fled the scene and vehicle being driven, possibly a 2003-2007 dark gray Honda Accord. The vehicle is believed to have sustained damage to its front area.
