*2nd Update*#LASD Homicide Invest Found Poss Human Remains, Golden Valley Rd, W of Robert C Lee Pkwy, Santa Clarita

Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Homicide detectives continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the discovery of human remains in the area of Golden Valley Road, west of Robert C. Lee Parkway, city of Santa Clarita.  The remains were found on Tuesday, March 7, 2017 at approximately 12:15 pm.
 
The Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner-Coroner has identified the body as Maricela Garcia of Tarzana.  She was reported missing out of the Los Angeles Police Department on January 12, 2017.
 
The exact cause of death has yet to be determined.
 
Homicide detectives are in contact with the victim’s family, as well as the Los Angeles Police Department.
 
The investigation is on-going and there is no additional information available at this time.

Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Homicide detectives continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the discovery of human remains in the area of Golden Valley Road, West of Robert C. Lee Parkway, City of Santa Clarita.

Detectives have learned that the remains, which appear to be a decomposed human body, were discovered by a local citizen who was walking his dog on Tuesday, March 7, 2017, at approximately 12:15 PM.

The Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner – Coroner’s Office has recovered the human remains and will work with Homicide detectives towards identifying the victim. At this time, it is unknown how long the remains have been in the area.

There is no further information available at this time.

Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Homicide detectives are responding to the Golden Valley Road, ¼ Mile West of Robert C Lee Parkway, City of Santa Clarita, to investigate the circumstances surrounding found possible human remains.
