Statewide Tornado Drill(TEST ONLY) Tuesday, March 21, 2017
Morning Test: 10:10 am EDT
Evening Test: 7:35 pm EDT
In conjunction with these tests we will conduct a test of the National Alert and Warning System (NAWAS) Emergency Notification Plan.
Each county warning point ( PSAP ) will be notified by the Indiana State Police Regional Communication Centers by radio of the test. By the First MA-1 in their district “Example ( AMA-1)” for north east section and Point to Point as a fail over.
What you should expect from the test:
Radio Stations: Stations should interrupt the broadcast for an announcement similar to the usual monthly test.
Broadcast, Cable and Satellite TV Stations: You should see a Text Crawl across the screen. They not expected to interrupt broadcasting.
National Weather Service Radios: Radios properly set to receive a Tornado warning, should activate when the test is received.
