Tip of the Week:  Don’t Attract Attention To Your Community

A common crime that happens nationwide is that of vehicle burglaries in parking lots of gyms, parks, and hiking trails. People tend to leave their wallets purses, and other high value items in their vehicles while they exercise.  This attracts thieves to burglaries for not just one vehicle, but multiple vehicles in the same area.  Once a thief has determined that an area is a ‘good spot’, they will continue to return.  How do we prevent this in our community?  It’s as simple as not becoming the thief’s ‘good spot’. If we take the time to secure our items properly (like locked in the lockers of the facility) or the trunks of our vehicles), there will not be an opportunity for a thief to damage vehicles and steal items. Take the extra few seconds to properly secure your property, and we will avoid becoming a ‘good spot’.

Take care, and be safe.
