9AM Winter Storm Impact Report – Snow, Sleet, and Freezing Rain Falling.
STORM ALERT
The storm has been a mix of precipitation with sleet, freezing rain, and snow falling. Snowfall totals have been lowered but hazardous roadway conditions remain. The storm is expected to leave our area this afternoon and bring frigid temperatures into the area. There have been no major accidents or incidents.
South Brunswick Emergency Operations Center will be open and monitoring all the changing conditions. We will provide updates throughout the day on the storm’s impact on our community. Residents can expect updates on South Brunswick Nixle as well as our Twitter account @SoBrunswickPD.
SOUTH BRUNSWICK FORECAST -
Mixed precipitation, storm total accumulations of 6.0-12.0" are more likely at this point. In addition, this warmer trend will lead to sleet likely being a major player with this system. Sleet amounts of 2.0-4.0" may be seen across the region, and even a brief period of freezing rain cannot be ruled out(especially southern Middlesex Co and Mercer Co). Wintry mix will likely persist through the morning before our system begins to progress east of the region.

The freezing rain and sleet may cause some downed trees and power outages. Customers should report downed wires or power outages by calling PSE&G's Customer Service line at 1-800-436-PSEG. Also, customers can report outages at www.pseg.com or by texting "OUT" to 4PSEG (47734). The utility's mobile-friendly website includes an "Outage Map" that is updated every 15 minutes and displays the location and status of power outages in PSE&G's service area.
