Eastern Greenbrier - WINTER STORM WARNING FROM 6 PM MONDAY TO 2 PM TUESDAY.

WINTER STORM WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 6 PM MONDAY TO 2 PM EDT TUESDAY...

The National Weather Service in Blacksburg has issued a Winter
Storm Warning for heavy snow, which is in effect from 6 PM Monday
to 2 PM EDT Tuesday. The Winter Storm Watch is no longer in
effect.

* Locations...From the Greenbrier Valley east to the Blue Ridge of
Amherst County, including the Alleghany Highlands and Southern
Shenandoah Valley.

* Hazard types...Snow. Snow will be mixed with sleet at times on
Monday night near the Blue Ridge.

* Accumulations...Snow accumulation of 3 to 6 inches, locally
higher along the ridge tops.

* Timing...Early Monday evening through midday Tuesday.

* Impacts...Snow will create hazardous travel conditions with snow
covered roads.

* Winds...North 5 to 10 mph.

* Temperatures...In the upper 20s to lower 30s.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Winter Storm Warning for heavy snow means severe winter weather
conditions are expected or occurring. Significant amounts of snow
are forecast that will make travel dangerous. Only travel in an
emergency. If you must travel...have a winter survival kit with
you.
