Advisory

Winter Storm Watch until 06:00PM Tuesday

...A MAJOR COASTAL STORM WILL AFFECT THE REGION MONDAY NIGHT AND TUESDAY... .Low pressure will develop off the Carolina coast Monday and become an intense storm as it moves east of New Jersey on Tuesday. Heavy precipitation will develop along and west of the track of the storm. Temperatures will be cold enough for snow in much of the area Monday night and Tuesday with substantial accumulations. ...WINTER STORM WATCH NOW IN EFFECT FROM MONDAY EVENING THROUGH TUESDAY AFTERNOON...

* LOCATIONS...Portions of eastern New Jersey.

* HAZARD TYPES...Heavy snow and strong winds.

* ACCUMULATIONS...Potential for storm total snowfall greater than 6 inches. Changes to the forecast track of the storm can result in substantial changes in the total accumulations.

* TIMING...Snow begins Monday evening from southwest to northeast across the watch area. Snow will continue through Tuesday afternoon, but there is potential for transition to a wintry mix or rain during the day, which could limit storm total snowfall amounts.

* IMPACTS...Heavy snow may cause significant travel disruptions.

* WINDS...Northeast 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 50 mph.

* AFFECTED AREAS: ATLANTIC ... COASTAL OCEAN ... CUMBERLAND ... EASTERN MONMOUTH ... OCEAN ... SOUTHEASTERN BURLINGTON ... WESTERN MONMOUTH
