On March 9th, 2017 at approximately 9:30 PM, PSPD investigated a shooting that occurred in the 400 block of S Indian Canyon Drive. When officers arrived they found two victims of gun shot wounds. Both victims were transported to a local area hospital and are expected to survive.

PSPD worked around the clock on this investigation. The PSPD Detective Bureau was assisted by the District Attorney's Gang Impact Team.

As a result of this investigation, two suspects were identified and subsequently arrested for their involvement in this shooting incident.

PSPD arrested a 17 year old male juvenile who will be charged with:

664/187 PC - Attempted Murder
Possible additional charges related to gang enhancements

PSPD also arrested an a 19 year old adult female identified as Sandra Vanessa Herrera of Desert Hot Springs. DOB 7/17/1997

Herrera is charged with:

664/187 PC - Attempted Murder
25850(c)(6) PC - Possession of an unregistered firearm

A search warrant was written and served at a residence where Herrera also resides in the Cathedral Cty. A firearm believed to have been used in the incident was recovered from this residence.

Both suspects have been booked on the above related charges.
