Advisory

Solicitors are misrepresenting themselves as Upland Unified School District students soliciting for the schools.

Our friends at the Upland Unified School District asked the Upland Police Department to pass on their message:

"This is an important message from Upland Unified School District. We were recently made aware of individuals posing as Upland students going door to door soliciting donations on behalf of their schools and programs. Many of our school programs do engage in fundraising, but this is done in a safe organized fashion with direct and advance communication from our schools. As a general practice and in order to ensure the safety of our students, we would never ask students to solicit donations door to door. The individuals who have been engaging in this activity are not associated with our schools or programs. We highly encourage you not to engage with these individuals and immediately notify Upland Police at (909) 946-7624. You may also contact our district office at 909-985-1864."

The Upland Police Department reminds you that soliciting door to door in Upland is illegal without a permit. Permits will not be issued to those passing themselves off as representing a charity they do not actually represent pursuant to Upland Municipal Code 5.28.060.
