Fremont officers are on-scene investigating a fatal traffic collision in the south end of Fremont that occurred this afternoon.
Upon receiving a 911 call at 2:34 p.m., several Fremont patrol and traffic officers responded to Christy St. near Auto Mall Pkwy on the report of a major injury collision. Preliminary information is that a 2014 Toyota Corolla driving southbound on Christy St., driven by a 48 year old male (Tracy resident), was involved in a collision with a Ducati motorcycle also driving southbound on Christy St., driven by a 58 year old male (Fremont resident).
The motorcyclist suffered fatal injuries from the collision and was pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver of the Corolla was not injured.
The driver of the Corolla is cooperating with the investigation. Drugs and alcohol do not appear to be factors in this collision. The cause of the collision remains under investigation.
Christy St. between Albrea St. and 42606 Christy is closed. Our estimate time to reopen the road is 7:00 p.m. Christy St. north of 42606 is open.
