NBPD suggests avoiding northbound Newport Coast Dr between Coast Hwy and San Joaquin Hills Rd today from 8am-3pm 
The Newport Beach Police Department is suggesting all motorists avoid Newport Coast Drive, between East Coast Highway and San Joaquin Hills Road for today, Thursday March 2nd, between the hours of 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Traffic will be reduced to one lane for northbound traffic on Newport Coast Drive.
The County of Orange will be using a helicopter and support equipment to perform erosion control measures along the Los Trancos section of Laguna Coast Wilderness Park. This area is east of Newport Coast Drive and south of Pelican Hill Road / Ocean Ridge Drive. Traffic may be delayed intermittently for the helicopter operation. The project will begin around 9:00 a.m. until approximately 3:00 p.m.
