Road Work Update

The contractor for the road construction around City Hall has been dealing with delays caused by utility installation. Underground power, gas, cable/wireless, and telephone lines must all be completed before any paving can be done. We are at the mercy of the utility providers’ schedules, so predicting completion dates is a challenge. The latest best guess for a road closure schedule calls for Dallas Street to reopen in early May, followed by work on Watts Drive from Main Street to Dallas Street which will take place from early May to mid-June. The entire project including the roundabout, City Hall plaza, and KPD parking area is now forecast to be finished in early October. These dates remain dependent on utility relocation as well as weather.
