Traffic Update: The N. Mission Bl. on-ramp for northbound I680 and all northbound I680 lanes are now open.
8:50 p.m. Update: We were just informed by CHP (Dublin area) that all lanes on I680 are now open as well as the N. Mission Blvd on-ramp for northbound I680. Traffic should begin to move a little faster and give some relief to the heavy traffic being experienced throughout the City of Fremont.
3:00 p.m. Update: We were just notified Caltrans anticipates the closure for the emergency roadwork to last until approximately 7:00 p.m. this evening.
Original Message:
The northbound Mission Blvd. onramp at the north Mission Blvd. (Mission San Jose District) entrance to I680 is closed. The closure is in place while construction work to repair a sinkhole on I680 takes place by Caltrans. Caltrans expects the closure to be in place until 5:00 p.m. (updated to 7:00 p.m.)
Please us alternative on-ramps to I680 at Washington Blvd., Automall Pkwy/Durham. and south Mission Blvd. Hwy 84 traffic coming from the Dumbarton Bridge is advised to take I880 north to 237/580 or south to I680. Traffic on Mission Blvd. near Niles Canyon is heavily congested and backed up for several miles in all directions on Mission Blvd.
