Details: On Saturday, February 25, 2017 at 8:18 PM, CPD officers were dispatched to a convenience store in the 1400 block of Dairy Avenue regarding a male subject causing a disturbance. The cashier at the store reported the male subject appeared intoxicated and was upset due to him not being allowed to buy any more alcohol. Officers made contact with the subject standing in front of the store identified as Felipe Leal Gomez (age 61). Gomez was acting belligerent and brandished a large serrated kitchen knife at officers that he had concealed inside his jacket. Gomez was arrested and continued to act belligerent with officers. Gomez made threats that he would kill the officers as he resisted. Gomez was found in possession of a total of three fixed blade knives concealed on his person. Gomez was also found in possession of a large caliber rifle round and was in unlawful possession of the ammunition due to being a convicted felon. Gomez was booked at the city jail and charged with threatening a police officer / resisting arrest, making criminal threats, possession of a concealed dirk or dagger (3 counts) and felon in unlawful possession of ammunition. Gomez was later transported and booked at the Kings County Jail in Hanford, CA with a total bail amount of $105,000.
