Newhall- Public Safety and Crime Prevention Information for the week of 02/13/17 to 02/19/17

02/13/17 

Vehicle Burglary- 24200 block of Arch Street
Person(s) unknown forced entry into the victim’s locked vehicle by unknown means and stole items. 

02/14/17 

Petty Theft - 24200 block of Cross Street
Person(s) unknown entered the victim’s unlocked vehicle and stole items  including a LAUSD employee identification card and camera. 

Petty Theft - 21300 block of Alder Drive
Person(s) unknown cut and stole a brass water valve from the apartment property. 

Commercial Burglary - 22500 block of 11th Street 
Person(s) unknown forced entry through a wooden front gate and shattered the glass of the front slider. Nothing appeared to have been stolen from the location. 

Commercial Burglary - 25000 block of Newhall Avenue
Person(s) unknown forced entry into a classroom and stole numerous items including laptop computers and a LCD projector.


02/18/17 

Grand Theft - 22500 block of 8th Street
Person(s) unknown stole the victim’s vehicle (2005 International Box truck, white in color) while parked in front of the location. 

It can take seconds for a thief to steal something from your car, so never leave valuables inside. Most vehicle crime is preventable. Don’t make your car a target for thieves by leaving such sought after items such as purses, wallets, lap top computers and cell phones in plain view. Always check you have closed all your windows and locked the doors before leaving your car unattended. While there’s no surefire way to totally prevent your car from being broken into keeping these tips in mind can make your car less of a target.
