INCIDENT: Attempted Murder / Vehicle Theft / Violation of Parole

LOCATION: E Street

SUSPECT: Kyrian Kelly, 24-year-old Victorville resident


SUMMARY:
On February 16, 2017, at approximately 12:28 a.m., deputies from the Victorville Police Department responded to a report of suspicious circumstances on E Street, near Sixth Street. The caller stated that she heard what sounded like three to four gunshots and when she looked outside she saw someone lying on the sidewalk.

Deputies located a 20-year-old male at the scene who had a gunshot wound to the top of his head and right thigh. The victim was transported to a local hospital by ambulance and then flown to Loma Linda University Hospital for treatment. No suspect was located and the investigation remained active.

On February 17, 2017, at approximately 9:36 a.m., a 1993 Honda Accord, matching the description of one reported stolen on February 11, 2017, was observed traveling west on Forrest Avenue. The driver of the vehicle, Kyrian Kelly, stopped in front of a residence on Del Rey Court where he and a female passenger exited the vehicle. The vehicle was confirmed stolen and Kelly was arrested and booked at High Desert Detention Center for vehicle theft and violation of parole.

Deputies investigating the attempted murder received additional information that Kelly was the suspect they had been attempting to locate. On February 18, 2017, attempted murder was added to Kelly’s booking charges. He remains in custody with bail set at $ 1,150,000.00.
