Incidents 281 Reports 47

#005 Auto Burglary
At approximately 6:45 a.m., Officer Knudson and FTO Hanrahan investigated an auto burglary that had just occurred in a retail parking lot at the corner of Warm Springs Blvd./Mission.  The suspects were described two Black male adults driving a newer white 4-door sedan with a black paper plate.

#008 Armed Robbery
At approximately 8:00 a.m., Officer Liu investigated an armed robbery where the victim stated he was inside his RV on Christy St. just South of Stewart when he heard knocking on his RV door and a male voice yelling “Fremont Police, open the door.”  The victim said he opened the door and two suspects wearing masks pointed a handgun at him forcing their way into his RV.  The victim said he was able to run out of the RV where he called for help while the suspects rummaged through his RV.  The victim said the suspects then fled in a newer white Chrysler sedan carrying a white pillow case with his laptop and cell phone.  Another occupied RV was parked in front of the victim RV and the occupants stated they did not hear or see anything associated with the robbery.  The suspects were only described as white male adults.  Officer Liu is attempting to located video evidence at this time.

#020 Residential Burglary
A neighbor saw two unknown males knocking on a door at Manitoba Tr. and then force their way into the home through a window.  The neighbor also noticed an associated blue 4-door vehicle sitting on the street.  Officer Knudson and FTO Hanrahan arrived on scene and saw a blue BMW leaving the area and attempted a vehicle stop.  The vehicle initially tried to evade them but got lost, turning down a dead end road within the complex.  The driver was detained without further incident and later admitted to the burglary plan.  The two suspects who entered the home fled the scene prior to PD arrival.  Investigation on-going. 

#038 Possession of a Controlled Substance Arrest
Officer Roberts conducted a traffic stop and arrested/cited a 36 year old adult male for possession of a controlled substance.

#005 DUI Arrest
At 3:31 a.m., Officer Dubowy observed a vehicle driving eastbound on Chapel Street without its headlights on.  The vehicle then approached a rolled through a stop sign turning onto High Street.  Officer Dubowy initiated a traffic stop and the vehicle almost hit a curb and parked crooked next to the sidewalk.  The driver, a 23 year old adult male, Fremont resident was arrested for DUI. 

#003 DUI Arrest
At 1:18 a.m., Officer Macciola conducted a traffic stop on the 37000 block of Niles Blvd for a vehicle code violation.  During the stop, he recognized the driver, a 23 year old adult male, had water eyes, slurred speech and the odor of alcohol on his person.  A field sobriety test was administered and the driver was arrested for DUI.   

#048 Vandalism
Officer Perry responded to a vandalism call at an apartment complex on the 3700 block of Mowry Ave.  The caller told dispatch that a male had bent and removed a window screen to climb through the window.  Officer arrived and made contact with a 25 year old adult male and arrested him for vandalism.  

#047, #001, #002, #004 Residential Burglaries
Four Residential Burglaries occurred between the hours of 6:00 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. in the general area of Mission Blvd/Durham Rd. and Paseo Padre/Durham Rd.   The point of entry was through rear sliding doors, some that were left unlocked and others that were shattered.  There is no suspect information at this time.  Loss reported was laptops, clothing, and jewelry.

#013 Suspicious Circumstances/Hit and Run Collision
Officer Singh investigated a suspicious circumstance where a reporting party stated someone may have brandished a firearm at them while driving.  The brandishing was determined to be unfounded (the RP couldn’t tell 100% what the object was) but the vehicle (green Hyundai) and license plate was provided.  Numerous units checked the areas where the vehicle was registed. Approximately 45 minutes after searching, we responded to a felony hit and run on Kato Rd.  While units were responding, the victim stated the suspect vehicle (green Hyundai) was still on scene but the suspect was driven from the scene by an uninvolved motorist.  The suspect vehicle was determined to be the same vehicle from the earlier call and a witness returned to the scene stating the driver had asked her for a ride and she drove him to a business nearby.  Units responded to located the male detained him for the hit and run collision.  An in-field was conducted and the 22 year old adult male, was positively identified and arrested.  Traffic Officer Tran conducted the hit and run investigation documenting it under report #014.

#024 Suspicious Circumstance
Officers responded to a business on the 43000 block of Pacific Commons Blvd. after the manager called to report that they received a package with a white powdery substance.  The package was addressed to a person that was not associated to the business.  FFD arrived a determined the powder was not hazardous.  FFD took the substance for destruction.  Case investigated by Officer Manrique.

#025 Possession of Drug Paraphernalia Arrest
Officers responded to the 4000 block of Bonde Way regarding 4 suspicious people smoking and being loud in the parking lot.  Officers Han and Singh responded and contacted the people.  A 26 year old adult female was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia.

#002 Warrant Service
Officer Fuellenbach stopped a 35 year old adult male near Glenmoor Dr/Richmond Ave.  The male was arrested for his outstanding warrants and possession of drug paraphernalia. 

#032 Suspicious Circumstances
At about 8:41 p.m., a male called to report he had just been robbed at gunpoint near BART.  The suspect drove away in a tan older 4-door sedan.  Several officers responded to the area but could not locate the victim or suspect.  The victim hung up after attempted call-backs, and could not be reached afterwards.  Eventually the victim was identified and determined to now be in Oakland.  The victim then refused to cooperate with police.  Officer Bordy documented the incident. 

#004 Stolen Vehicle Arrest & Felon in Possession of a Firearm
At 12:21 a.m., Officer Gregory was dispatched to the 4200 block of Bay Street after a female located her stolen vehicle in the parking lot.  Officer Gregory drove into the complex and saw a 32 year old adult male walking away from the vehicle.  The male fled on foot, but was caught after a short foot pursuit.  A search of his apartment yields a loaded handgun in the closet.  The male is arrested for taking a vehicle without permission, being a felon in possession of a firearm, felon in possession of ammunition, possession of a high capacity magazine, resisting arrest, possession of a controlled substance, and a probation violation.

#005 Resisting Arrest and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia Arrest
At 1:08 a.m., Officer Macciola and Officer Dubowy were dispatched to a suspicious vehicle at the end of King Rd.  They locate a 29 year old adult male asleep in the vehicle.  During the initial contact with the male he refused to follow commands and he began reaching under the front seat.  The male was asked to step out of the vehicle, and once outside he immediately reached towards his front waistband.  Officers attempted to detain the male and he began to resist.  A K9 was deployed and the male was placed in a WRAP.  Union City PD units responded to assist.  The male was arrested for obstructing/resisting, trespassing and possession of unlawful drug paraphernalia.

#029 and #030 Possession of Stolen Property
Officer Harvey was attempting catch up to a vehicle that was trying to evade him.   He initially loses the vehicle, but he locates it a short time later unoccupied.  While he was in the area looking for the driver, he sees another vehicle that is being driven by a known male who is on probation.  He conducts a traffic stop and contacts a 31 year old adult male and a 26 year old adult female.  During a probation search of the vehicle, Officer Harvey locates property from a Fremont burglary that had occurred earlier in the day.  The male half is under the influence of a controlled substance and was taken to the hospital before being transported to Santa Rita Jail.   He was arrested for burglary, possession of stolen property and committing a felony while out on bail.  The female was arrested for driving on a suspended driver’s license. 

#019 Package Theft Arrest
A witness called to report he saw two suspicious women walking in the neighborhood.  The witness saw one of the women enter the backyard of a residence and then walk onto the porch.  He saw the woman walkaway with a package.  The women were last seen driving away in a white truck.  The witness followed the truck until Officer Snow was able to locate them and conduct a traffic stop.  A 43 year old adult female and a 44 year old adult female were detained.  The investigation revealed that the 43 year old was the suspect that entered backyard walked onto the porch to steal property belonging to the homeowner.  The female was arrested and transported to FPD jail.  While at the jail, she was found to be in possession of a controlled substance.  The second female was released at the scene.  Case investigated by Officer Knudson and FTO Hanrahan.

#022 Robbery
A victim met with a male on the 43000 block of Christy Street to sell him a pair of shoes.  The suspect took the shoes and the victim’s phone.  No weapons seen.   Case investigated by Officer Latimer.

#034 Carjacking/Armed Robbery
At 10:59 p.m., two males were carjacked by a suspect armed with a metal object similar to a tire iron near Fremont Blvd/Sundale Dr.  The suspect, described as a Hispanic male wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, came up to their car, hit them in the head multiple times with a metal object, took their wallets and phones and fled in their vehicle.  The vehicle was located a short time later abandoned on Parkhurst Ave.  A perimeter was set and a K9 search was conducted, but the suspect was not located.  The victims were treated at a hospital and later released.  The vehicle was towed for evidence collection.  Officer Gregory handled the investigation.

#010, #011 Collision, Stolen Vehicle and Warrant Arrest
Officers responded to a single vehicle collision on Automall Pkwy.  A Chevy Blazer spun out in the rain, crashed through a cyclone fence and rolled over into the storm canal on the north side of Automall Pkwy along I880.  Three occupants were located near the scene and they stated the driver had fled the area on foot.  The Blazer didn’t have a license plate and a check of the VIN showed the vehicle was reported stolen out of Fremont.  Officers reviewed surveillance video at a nearby gas station and recognized one of the men at the scene to be the driver. Officer Dennis arrested the 52 year old adult male for theft of a vehicle and one of the passengers, a 43 year old adult female for a warrant.  Great teamwork by all involved.

#018 & #020 Identity Theft
A auto dealership on Cushing called to report two people that walked out yesterday (and returned today) after completing fraudulent finance apps to purchase a car under false identity. Today they came back but left suddenly. A short time later the same scam is attempted at the used car dealership located at Mowry/Mission. This time the police were called again and the two people were caught in the lot before they could leave. Arrested were a 36 year old adult female and a 36 year old adult male for a multitude of financial crimes. Investigation handled by Officers Manrique and Madsen.

#024 Pursuit of a Stolen Vehicle
Officer Catassi, while investigating a found property on Dewey Pl., spotted a vehicle that was discussed in briefing recently that was known to be stolen and cold plated. Additional units immediately responded to assist. A high risk car stop was attempted at Stevenson/Blacow and the vehicle immediately took off at a high rate of speed. A pursuit was initiated.  The pursuit traveled southbound on I880 at high speeds. The vehicle traveled eastbound onto 237 onto N. 1st headed towards Monague Expressway. The pursuit was terminated (suspects and vehicle still outstanding) by the supervisor due to the high speeds on a surface street. Total mileage 16 miles and approximately 9 minutes.
