Name of pedestrian involved in 2-19 collision with motorcyclist released.
***UPDATE 2-20-2017***APD Traffic Investigations has released the name of the pedestrian that died in this collision. She is Candice Elaine Pogue, age 61, of Amarillo.
INITIAL DETAILS: On February 19, 2017 at 1:06 AM, an Amarillo police officer drove up on a motorcycle accident in the west bound lanes of the 3200 block of east IH-40. As the officer was checking the condition of the motorcyclist he learned the motorcycle had struck a pedestrian that was walking across IH-40. The pedestrian is identified as a female in her 60’s. She was crossing IH-40 southbound when she walked in front of a 2007 Suzuki motorcycle driven by David Nunn, male 39 of Amarillo. The pedestrian died at the scene as a result of injuries received in the accident. Nunn was taken to a local area hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Nunn was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. Release of the pedestrians name is pending the notification of a next of kin. Justice of the Peace Thomas Jones has ordered an autopsy. The incident is being investigated by the Traffic Investigation Unit of the Amarillo Police Department.
