*Update* LASD Homicide Assist El Monte PD with Stabbing Death Investigation, 4200 Blk Peck Rd, El Monte

Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Homicide Bureau detectives are continuing to assist El Monte Police Department personnel investigate the circumstances surrounding the stabbing death of a male, Hispanic adult that occurred in the 4200 block of Peck Road in El Monte on Sunday, February 19, 2017 at 11:43 a.m.
 
Detectives have learned that the victim and his cousin were walking south on Peck Road when a vehicle headed northbound on Peck Road pulled alongside them.  A male Hispanic exited the front passenger seat and confronted the two men.  The suspect produced a knife and stabbed the victim in the chest.  The suspect then re-entered the vehicle and fled away north and out of view. 
 
The victim and his cousin ran south on Peck Road to a residence where the victim collapsed.  He was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.  The cousin was uninjured.
 
It is unknown if the incident is gang related.
 
The investigation is ongoing and there is no additional information available at this time.

Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Homicide Bureau detectives are responding to the 4200 blk of Peck Road, El Monte, to assist El Monte Police Department personnel investigate the circumstances surrounding the stabbing death of a male adult. 

The victim was transported to a local hospital and was pronounced dead.

There is no additional information available at this time.
