Sandbags available for Torrance residents

Heavy rain is expected throughout the weekend.  Public Works will have filled sandbags available for free for Torrance residents today from 3-4 p.m. and Friday, 2/17/17, from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.  They will be given out at the City Yard at Madrona and Spencer.  The gates at the yard will be open and signs will direct people to the left side of the left building.  Proof of Torrance residency is required.  There is a limit of 25 sandbags.

 

Fire Station 1 at Carson and Crenshaw will have sandbags available after hours for emergencies only.

 

If you must travel, please watch for flooding, slow down and drive with caution.
