The weather service is advising of heavy rain and high winds beginning Friday morning, 2/17/17 through Saturday afternoon, 2/18/17. The heaviest rain is expected in the afternoon on Friday. More rain is expected Monday, 2/20/17 through Tuesday, 2/21/17.
Be alert to unusual roadway conditions, standing water along curbs and sewers, fallen trees or power lines. Allow more time between you and other traffic giving you more time to react. Check around your home for areas which might cause water to enter and take steps to prevent flooding in your home.
Sand bags and sand are availalbe for the public at Covina Public Works located at 534 N. Barranca Ave. City crews will be available to respond to clear storm drains and clear roads of weather related debris. Covina PD and Public Works will be monitoring areas for problems throughout the weekend. Call 626.384.5808 to report a problem.
