OhioHealth O’Bleness Hospital staff were notified this morning of a water main break in the City of Athens. With the exception of the Castrop Center, THE HOSPITAL WILL REMAIN OPEN, regardless of the water situation. This includes the Emergency Department, the Birth Center, Laboratory Services, Radiology and all other areas.

Athens Medical Associates practices located within the Castrop Center will close at noon today and are planned to reopen tomorrow.

O’Bleness has activated water conservation procedures and currently has safe water available for continued hospital operations.

We are currently assessing the situation to see how the elective surgery schedule will be affected and will let scheduled patients know as soon as we know.
