INCIDENT: Felon in Possession of a Firearm and Residential Burglary

LOCATION: 3600 Block of Riverview Terrace Dr., Needles

SUSPECT: Cristain Solis, 22 years old of San Bernardino

SUMMARY:
On Saturday, February 11, 2017 at about 1:30 p.m., the California Highway Patrol responded to a single vehicle traffic accident on the Westbound I-40 West of Needles. The vehicle involved was a 1995 White 2-door Honda Civic and was being driven by Cristain Solis of San Bernardino, California. When C.H.P. officers arrived, they noticed the vehicle appeared to contain numerous possible stolen items. C.H.P. contacted the Colorado River Station/ Needles Police Department for assistance. When Deputies arrived they positively identified items that were reported stolen earlier in the day.

Between Friday, February 10, 2017 at 11:00 p.m. and Saturday, February 11, 2017 at 9:00 a.m., Solis gained entry to one home through an open window and two detached garages. One garage had a window broken by Solis to gain entry and the other was entered using a hidden key next to the door. All three structures were located on three different properties. Some of the items that were taken included an Colt Revolver and over 2000 rounds of .223 caliber ammunition, and other miscellanous items were taken from a bedroom as the victims slept. The victims were contacted, identified their property and the property was released. The items that were stolen had a total value in excess of $10,000.00. Solis is currently on felony probation for a firearms related charge.

Solis was transported to the Colorado River/ Needles Police Station for questioning. Solis was interviewed and subsequently arrested for Felon in Possesssion of a Firearm and Residential Burglary. Solis was booked at the Needles jail on $50,000.00 bail.
