Details: On Friday, February 10, 2017 at 11:57 PM, CPD officers conducted a traffic stop of a vehicle in the area of Josephine Avenue and Bainum Avenue. The driver, identified as Manuel Gallegos, was determined to be driving while under the influence of alcohol and arrested. Officers then located a baggy, containing approximately 6.4 grams of suspected cocaine, near the vehicle. The three passengers inside the vehicle were identified as Juan Andres Garcia, Brian Gonzalez and Jose Aguirre Ramirez. Garcia, Gonzalez and Ramirez are also known Hispanic gang members. A search of the vehicle was conducted and officers located a digital scale and an illegal trench knife (combination brass knuckles and butterfly knife) concealed underneath a jacket inside the vehicle. Gonzalez was found in possession of several plastic baggies consistent with the sales of narcotics. The vehicle was towed and impounded. All four subjects were arrested, transported and booked at the city jail. Gallegos was charged with DUI, transportation of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance for sales, possession of a deadly weapon, participation in a criminal street, and being under the influence of a controlled substance. Gallegos was later booked at the Kings County Jail with a total bail amount of $196,000. Garcia, Gonzalez and Ramirez were each booked for transportation of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance for sales, possession of a deadly weapon, participation in a criminal street, and being under the influence of a controlled substance. Garcia, Gonzalez and Ramirez were booked at the Kings County Jail in Hanford, CA each with a total bail amount of $186,000.
