The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Warning for Wednesday, evening, February 8 through Thursday afternoon, February 9. Snow will move into the area overnight and continue through tomorrow afternoon. Total snow accumulation is expected to be 6 -8 inches. Snowfall rates of 1+ inch per hour are possible. Winds will be 10-15 MPH with gusts up to 25 MPH. This will cause blowing and drifting snow.

Garbage collection in Section 2 and recycling collection in Section 4 will still be picked up on Thursday. If weather conditions worsen, you will be notified accordingly.

The mini bus service is cancelled for tomorrow, Thursday, February 9.

The Borough’s snow removal trucks will plow each street curb to curb during this snow fall. Residents are urged to make every effort possible to remove your vehicles parked on the streets until the roads are plowed sufficiently. Your cooperation will greatly increase our public works employee’s ability to clear the roads of snow and ice in a prompt and timely manner.

Residents are also reminded that a Borough Ordinance prohibits the shoveling, placing, throwing or blowing of snow into or upon any street in Fair Lawn. The Borough would also like to remind residents that for the safety and welfare of our residents, please attempt to clear snow around fire hydrants and crosswalks.
