Advisory

Winter Weather Advisory - 3 to 6 inches of snow expected Thursday morning

SNOW/ICE THREAT: HEAVY SNOW MORE LIKELY THURSDAY MORNING

South Brunswick Office of Emergency Management has received a weather advisory for Thursday morning. Here is the latest information -

It is looking increasingly more likely that we are dealing with a fast-moving, high-impact event Thursday morning. This storm is expected to bring a significant amount of moisture and it begins first as a rain/sleet/snow mix around or after midnight. It rapidly switches to snow in the pre-dawn and this is the critical part of the storm as snow gets heavy in the 5 - 11 AM timeframe. At least 1" per hour rates can occur and note that previous warmth does not matter in these situations, that intensity can rapidly cover everything. Behind the storm, a few snow showers are possible into Thursday evening and then watch for refreeze at night as lows are upper teens to low 20s.
