David Boyles arrested on multiple charges in relation to stolen property from Device Pitstop

At 3:52 PM on Monday, February 06, 2017, Anchorage Police received a call from an employee at High Frequency Wireless who stated a man in their store was trying to sell a phone previously stolen from Device Pitstop on February 4, 2017. Officers arrived at 636 E 15th Avenue and made contact with the suspect inside the business. The male, later identified as 45-year-old David S. Boyles, refused to comply with officer commands and began physically fighting all three officers. After a few minutes an officer gave a Taser warning.  Boyles was tased after continuing to fight and refusing to obey officer instructions.  Boyles was then taken into custody.

Boyles exhibited signs of drug use to include extremely heightened physical strength. Boyles was transported to the hospital and medically cleared.  He was incarcerated on a felony probation violation warrant.  Boyles was also charged with Assault on a Police Officer, Resisting, and Possession of Stolen Property.

ADDITIONAL INFO - The 2011 Volkswagen Golf used to commit the burglary at Device Pitstop on February 4th was recovered at 5:40 PM on Monday, February 6, 2017. The unoccupied vehicle was located on the 300-block of W 32nd Avenue.  The Volkswagen was originally stolen on February 1, 2017, from the 500-block of E Benson while left unattended and running.
