Curran Middle School Threats Investigation
On February 1st, 2017, the Kern County Sheriff’s Office received a report of recent threats made toward students at Curran Middle School in Bakersfield.
After receiving the report, Sheriff’s Office detectives began investigating the allegations. During the investigation detectives identified a suspect, a 14 year old female student who attends Curran Middle School. At the conclusion of their investigation, detectives determined the threats did not appear to be credible, however the case will be submitted to the District Attorney’s Office for review.
Detectives also determined during the investigation that the recent threats appear to be related to a threat made toward students at Curran Middle School over the holiday break in late December 2016. The investigation into those threats is still ongoing and no arrests have been made in that case.
If anyone has information on either of these cases they are asked to call the Sheriff’s Office at 661-861-3110 or Secret Witness at 661-322-4040.
