Subject Identified in Fatal Officer-Involved Shooting
The man shot and killed by a Kiowa police officer after the man struggled with the officer to retrieve a gun has been identified. Marvin Washington, 50, was transported to a McAlester hospital where doctors pronounced him dead. A Kiowa officer pulled over Washington for speeding just after 2 o'clock this morning. When the officer patted down Washington, he felt a gun in Washington's coat pocket. Washington is a convicted felon, making possession of a firearm illegal. OSBI special agents were requested to investigate the shooting.
